    I am looking for a bike in the $600-$800 range. Does anyone know
    any good or bad about Cannondales. I looked at the SR500 and SR800
    the other day. The SR500 had all shimano 105 components and sold
    for 599.00 and the SR800 had Suntour Sprint components and was all
    black which really looked nice but sold for $860. I haven't ridden
    much for 2 years but use to be quite active cycling. Also the SR500
    had a bioace freewheel. It was kind of egg shaped. Is there any
    benefit to this or is it just a gimmick ? Any comments appreciated..

| I like the BIOPACE chainrings. I don't notice them when I'm spinning
    along at 90-100 rpm on the flats, but when I get in the hills, esp
    the steep ones, I feel they give me a little more power.

| 228.2 | Cannondales are good bikes | AQUA::OCONNOR | Tue Mar 10 1987 12:21 | 9 | |
|     Hi,

    I've got a 1985 SR900. I love the bike. Cannondales are well made,
    although the welding finish on mine was pretty ugly. One thing
    to note, Cannondales aren't all that light for an aluminum (sp?)
    bike. If you have any other specific questions about Cannondales I
    would be glad to answer them.

| 228.3 | new geometry | CSC32::D_MARTIN | Tue Mar 24 1987 13:45 | 10 | |
| One difference between the two bikes you are comparing is the frame
    geometry. The low end Cannondale has the same geometry as previous
    years models. All of the more expensive racing models have a new
    "criterium" geometry- 74/73 degree angles. (1987 models)

    I think the lowest priced racing model is being promoted as a
    "triathlon" type bike. I personally don't see much difference
    between the Shimano 105 and the more expensive 600 components:
    they both are excellent quality components.
