/********************************************************/
This will be our first meeting of the year to kick off the
biking season. Our guest speaker, Paul Randazzo of Category
One Cycle Goods, will present a Bicycle Tune-up Seminar which
will go over the adjustments and maintenance necessary to get
your bike ready for the summer. Following this, we will hold
elections for the offices of President, Vice Presedent,
Secretary and Treasurer. Nominations for these offices are
encouraged.
EVERYONE is invited!!
==> PRE-MEETING GET-ACQUAINTED RIDE (optional) <==
We will meet in the HLO-2 parking lot at 6:00 pm for a short
(~10 mile) ride before the meeting. If you haven't gotten your
bike out of winter storage yet, this is a good opportunity to
do so.

Are non-DEC employees (wives) welcome to:
outings,
meetings,
membership?
I've been to HLOx, could someone steer me (and anybody else not
familier with HLO) to the proper building and the proper conference
room?
Thanks,
Glen

Friends/spouses are welcome on rides. Membership (in the "old" club)
really amounted to voting rights, not "riding rights". In other
words, I don't think non-DEC employees can be members per se, but
they're welcome.
If you know where the HLO facility is, the Mt Washington conference
room is on the first floor of HLO2, a reasonably straight shot from
the entrance (come in the building, when you get to the stairs,
the conference room is just to the left of 'em)
If you don't know where HLO is, take Rt 290 or I 495 to the rt 85
(Marlboro) exit. Go down the "exit ramp" (I put that in quotes because
it's a mile or so long), thru one intersection. At the second
intersection (at RT 85), there's a "99" restaurant on the right,
and DEC straight ahead. Go straight, up the hill and back down.
HLO2 is the building "in the back".
See you there, RIGHT?

| 57.3 | All are welcome, everywhere... | MENTOR::REG | a remote control for my foot ? | Tue May 20 1986 10:17 | 10 |
Well, I don't have a copy of whatever bylaws might exist, but
I would say, "YES, absolutely everyone is welcome and encouraged
to come to dec bike club rides and meetings". I don't think I have
ever been to a ride that any club put on and been asked for membership
I.D. or anything, they always welcome new faces, its just the way
they are, i.e. nice folks.

| 57.4 | ID card = Bike shop discounts | FURILO::BLESSLEY | Wed May 21 1986 17:20 | 9 | |
Indeed - I think ID cards were issued when Kathy (Norton; beloved
ex-President) got around to it. They're handy for discounts at local
bike shops, but it never occured to me to bring one along to an
event.
Come on down!
