Can anyone give me the name of a good car radio specialist shop in the
Reading area?
Three times I've been most frustrated at a certain dealer not a million
miles from DECpark who seems to insist that I need to spend at least
500-00 on a stereo unit for a car (like the company car I've just got
that has lousy speakers). Another example, same shop, needed new speakers
for my wife's Fiesta. It's got a standard push button Philco cheapo
unit but one speaker was rattling. The answer? 100-00 on a pair of
speakers!! I got a pair in Halfords for 18-00 which do the job. I was
not after super hi fi speakers just something that worked. Particular
shop just could'nt see where I was coming from.
So, any good dealers who will be totally honest and not try and flog me
the earth?

Perhaps not the answer you're looking for, but have you considered
nipping on a train and wandering down Tottenham Court Road?
You'll find places that will give you advice, and let you try stuff
out in various combinations. There's loads of car hi-fi places, so
you can get a mix of views and thus hopefully a few honest answers.
Plus, if you buy you'll save the money you spent on the train fare.
