| | Roy, the deal is this and I have checked this recently.

If you get a test drive from a dealer then Digital will not provide
cover. However, if a loan vehicle is supplied by the manufacturer fleet
demo dept (they may want to clear this with car fleet first) then
Digital will supply cover. The cover is automatic and insurance dept
here will not want to know any details unless a claim is necessary.

    Hope this helps

| | What's the difference between a 'loan' vehicle from the maufacturer
    and a Test drive ?

| | I have just re-written the Test Drive section on Insurance (Fleet) VTX.

"Test drives and demonstrations for all non-preferred car list
vehicles must be covered by the dealer's insurance.

Cover for vehicles listed on the PCL will be covered under Digital's
    normal fleet arrangements."

Sorry for the confusion, folks !

| 2167.4 | Get Proof First... | ROCKS::CAMP |  | Tue Oct 19 1993 16:24 | 9 |
| | Well thats interesting because when I asked for a Citren demo car,
Citren "loaned" me a car for the week, but Fleet Car said they
would not supply insurance. So I put this to Citren and they said
they would supply the cover. Overall I think it would have been a bit
of a problem if I had damaged the car and now I would not test drive
or loan a car without cast iron proof of who is supplying the
    insurance.

    Get proof before use.....

| | I've received the following info from Chris Palmer from the Insurance
dept. I have his permission to post it.

The bottom line is that LeasePlan will arrange test drives for you
including cars not on the PCL.

    Test Drives

For anyone eligible to access the quoting system LPDirect, Lease Plan
will arrange test drives, when requested. All the person need do is
    request via LPDirect, e-mail (Lease_Plan @REO)or telephone (7)830 8066.

Lease Plan organised test drives will be covered by Digital's insurance,
    irrespective of type of car.

Test drives arranged directly by the employee must be covered by the
    dealers insurance.
