| | What do they charge nowadays? I've always found them quite reasonable, although
at the moment I have this service included in my current RAC membership which
makes it even cheaper.

From the ferry brocures and for 10 days cover:
AA 34.00 PDS
RAC 49.95 PDS
National Breakdown (if taken with Cresta holidays) 23.00 PDS
National Breakdown (direct, just got the number and called them) 40.00 PDS
As an RAC member I thought their figure was abit steep to say the least.
Oh well guess it'll have to be the AA.

| | Try National Breakdown on 0532-393666. Ask for European Department,
tell them you work for Digital and quote membership number 10/51939 and
you'll get 10% discount. This info. is on VTX, car fleet foreign
travel option. Price should be 36 net. I recently took out this
insurance and noticed that it covered me for theft of car as well. I
did not notice whether the AA 5 Star explicitly covered for this!

    Regards

Looks like the AA doesn't cover this and as I wasn't going to get a green card
(as I only have TPF&F cover) it looks like the National Breakdown could be a
good deal.
Thanks for the tip,
Nigel.

| | I am not sure about the National Breakdown price, but I did use their
services when my car broke down in France last year. The emergency
line operators spoke good English and were extremely helpful in dealing
with the garage, arranging a hotel and arranging temporary car hire.
When I got home my claim for expenses was handled quickly and without
    question.
