    Re-1,

I can answer one of those questions.

    It costs about 30-35,000 pounds.
    		Not cheap.

inside compare to the current Supra, but a bit faster. Mind you the new
    TwinTurboThreeLitre24ValveStraightSix mit 320bhp & 315lb ft torque
Supra coming soon will rectify that !

ps. Just think how many more mpg your getting than him (or her).

| | The 200 series nissan is very good. I borrowed a friends last year.
Gave me a bit of a fright not knowing how powerfull it was until the
turbo kicked in, before you know it, you are doing 100 mph. Pitty about
the room though, and the prices are quite good. The one I borrowed had
    air-condition as a standard option I think.

I have found out that the car is capable of 140mph. So the 300zx must
go a hell of a lot quicker with a bigger engine and second turbo etc.

Can anyone tell me if the twin turbo design is to cut out turbo lag?.

    Cheers

    Stefan

| | Engine Capacity: 2960
    Max. Power : 280 BHP
    Max. Torque : 372 nm @ 3600 rpm

Max. speed (mph) for manual is 156 and 152 for auto shifter with 0-60
times of 5.6 and 6.1 seconds respectively. Also has four wheel steering
and multi link suspension to give it quite a balanced ride under most
conditions. Not driven the Twin Turbo but have driven my brothers older
swb 300 ZX turbo with 200 hp which is plenty enough power coming into
action way down the rev range.

Was the one you saw the long (4 seater) with petrol filler cap behind
C-pillar or the shorter (2 seater) with petrol filler cap infront-below
    C-pillar?

I have done a number of sessions on race circuits. The 300ZX did not
impress me at all. The car is obviously very heavy and that is visible
in acceleration, braking and cornering. Should be OK on the road.

I wouldnt's call it real four wheel steering like the Prelude is. It's
some clever jiggery pokerey with the suspension and some electionics
    too.

I test drove the Twin Turbo model and didn't find the pseudo 4ws made
any difference. Mind you, I wasn't throwing it from lane to lane like
the salesman suggested I do to feel it in effect.

Wizzing down the M27 at 90mph, he says 'Right, now chuck it into the
middle lane quickly', naturally I changed lanes no quicker than I
normally do. He assures me If I had've done it quickly I'd have noticed
how well in controll the it would have felt as I did the maneuver.

Have to admit the dashboard was nice though.

Well I've got a 300, and its dirty - so possible one and the same.
I'm still getting used to it, so can't offer `on the limits' driver
information - but some initial thoughts:
    	Plenty of power
    	Nice seats etc
Too much power coming off wet roundabouts
In general seems easy to live with
RE: A few back - I'm not too keen on the dash - personal I guess
Plenty of power (did I say that?)

I agree with .0 - I like the looks - but my previous car was an
(old) 911 - which has got the 300 beat (if only) in that department.
The 300 has far more poke, much more relaxing to drive distances etc.

    Cliff

p.s. RE: The price - I found the salesmen to be pretty flexible these
days. Ignore the big numbers written on the windscreen.

Isn't this the usual comment that applies to the bigger Japanese

I can't generalize. I haven't driven the NSX or even seen one on a race
circuit. The 300ZX looks like an eye-catcher when stopped in the pits
but is a disappointment when on the track. I'd like to test the 200SX
which sounds like good value for money.

As a comparison, a Porsche 928, with similar size, weight, power, is
much closer to a racing car, even with auto gearbox.

I haven't driven it yet, but he says it could use a bit more...

They're okay I guess
> Too much power coming off wet roundabouts
Takes awhile to get used to the handling though, the locked diff might
cause of the problems
> In general seems easy to live with
Yes, but it does get stares from lots of people
> RE: A few back - I'm not too keen on the dash - personal I guess
A bit bland really

Oh, wait a minute! You guys are talking about the 300*ZX*...
Sorry, I thought this was the Isetta note....:-)

| | I saw a car mag (fast car, I think), it had a picture of a nissan 300zx
with the roof removed. This is only available in America at the moment.
Looked much more sexy than the hard top though. It also had 6 exhausts
coming of the back, nice crome bore ones. Also in this mag for anyone
who drives a calbra, a softtop version, which I think vauxhall should
    introduce into the range.

I looked inside the 300zx down the Nissan showroom here in Reading. I
loved it!!!. Once you are inside every thing is within easy reach,
especialy all the gadgets on either side of the steering wheel. You
can also change radio stations which is situated on the steering wheel.

PS. WOULD LOOK A HOLE LOT BETTER AND SPORTER IF IF HAD A BETTER FRONT
    UNDERSIDE, AND POP UP LIGHTS.

| | Better with out pop-ups I think. They might look flash but it's a pain
    when you want to.

I like the rear light cluster of the 300zx. Looks great on the motor
way at night. The doors although not framed do have a pillar going half
wat up, helps keep the door and window rigid at speed and when closing.
If you've ever shut a Supra door you'll know what I mean.
