| | Be honest, having a door- or wing-mounted mirror is worthwhile...

If you are concerned about originality, I am pretty sure you could
source the right sort of mirror that was fitted to Firenza's that
did have them fitted. I'm sure some variants would have done.

| 2014.2 | Are 2 mirrors required for road use ? | SUBURB::JASPERT |  | Mon Feb 08 1993 13:12 | 12 |
| | I also guess your concern is originality, as you will have the same
problem in 12 months time of having just 1 mirror.
So lets assume that you want an aesthetic mirror. Surely the junkyards
must have a Vauxhall mirror of this vintage ?
If you just HATE MIRRORS then why not buy a towing mirror which clips
on the door or front wing. You can then fit it on an annual basis.
Then you are free to remove it without
leaving scars, I find the legality of this questionable though, should
you wish to use the car on the road between MOT dates 8*)

    Tony.

| | I got a clip on mirror for an old Beetle a few years back from Halfords. As .1 said,
I'd recommend having a mirror fitted as a permanent fixture. They are useful!

I find it strange that they should pass MOT rules retrospectively,
are you sure that this applies to your car? I remember the clip on
ones too, I had one on my mini, however, although I keep a lot of
junk I don't have that. Sorry,

Don't tell me you are really going to put that thing on the road?

| | Are you sure there isn't a registration date before which the new rules do
    not apply?

My Dad's 1909 triumph only has 2 brakes and a bulb horn but it still
    pases it's MOT.

    Huw.

I have a friend with an MG-TC, it nearly failed once when the tester
couldn't see an in-cockpit indicator light, however he did notice that
the battery charge gauge flickered so that counted...
