I did a Dir/title=Austin and came up empty on this questions. Please
    move if needed.

I have purchased an Austin Taxi with a Perkins. Carriageworks Inc
number FX4 AT 4843 113 and the state shows a VIN of FX405 399. There is
no title [last reg before titles were required in that state.].

I picked up the Jan 93 issue of "practical Classics" and did not fine a
club listed. I called Mill House Books and they said they didn't carry
an books. Motor Book MS, 33 St Martins' Court London say the book is
    out of print.

[I know why would anyone want to purchase an FX4?]

Any pointers on info for this one?

    Thanks

    Howard

| I suspect you could get engine info from Perkins themselves. Also
there are a few garages in the Great Wen that specialize in taxis.

I think you're probably going to have a bit of a learning curve on this
    one...8*)

| By stroke of luck my ancestors crossed the pond 370 years ago. They are
going to make the learning curve real steep for a lad from the states.

| Have you seen the TV prog on the FX4 taxi ? It is worth a view. I have a VHS/PAL version if you want to borrow it. You should be able to get a workshop manual from a Cummins dealer for the engine. BTW How many FX4's are there over the pond ? Stephen D | |||||
