What is the prize, by the way?

| | Thanks to those of you who have helped my wife win a Mini Cooper!!! You
could always dash round to the paper shop and buy a copy of last week's
Radio Times.... I thought the use of the christian name for Herr Benz
(I presume it was he) was a bit naff!!

| | You mean you've gone for the Cooper? Surely you'd have been better off
going for the Rover 216 GTi - selling it and buying a Mini. The Rover's
worth about 4,000 more than the mini - that'd give you all that nice
cash to play around with.

You could have had the Cooperisation kit for the Cooper too!

That'd make the new Cooper a match for the original 'S' then.

| | The mini on offer has already been "Cooperised" (ie twin SUs, bigger exhaust,
etc, etc). That's why it's called a cooper...

Yes, but John Cooper offers a Rover-approved, kit (for a smallish amount)
which ups the performance of the Cooper (which is pretty sluggish
compared with other 'hot' small cars) to the level of the Cooper S
which is a more presentable (and inspiring) level for a modern sports
    saloon.

Apparently there was some emission problem with fitting this kit on
the basic Cooper. Anyone know what? Perhaps you loose the cat?

| | The John Cooper kit is, at the moment ONLY for converting the 1000cc
engine. I phoned Cooper Garage last week and they're still waiting for
Rover approval! It'll knock down the 0-60 time to about 8.5 seconds
apparently. They're also experimenting shoving a turbo in there but
that'll mean mod'ing the bulkheaD. That'll be fun!!
