Try Bouley Brothers in (I think) Worcester. I don't know how busy
they are, but I've known Willie Bouley for years and would trust
him to do a good job. A very nice guy.

| | GLM Engineering Consultants, Inc. - Holliston

We had our land surveyed back in January '88. GLM staked the lot
lines, did an instrument location of the house and prepared a plot
plan for $700. They were the most reasonable price we found after
months of requesting bids (most others were $1000 to $1500). We
live in Leominster so this included travel time also.

They gave us a bid relatively quickly and performed the survey within
a few weeks after signing a contract. My only complaint is that
it took a couple months for them to send the new plot plan. Overall
I was very pleased with their work.

We dealt with Joyce Hastings at GLM. They are located at 1750
Washington St., Holliston, MA. Phone: 429-1100

Drake Associates Inc. in Frammingham (770, Grove St.
508-877-0848) is HIGHLY recommended as far as Schedule,
Quality of Job and Price. This is a Home Business type
of operation, but very professional as far as surveying.
One caution is when you going to their "office" you
need to have your mind set for a "HOUSE" rather than an
office. I passed by the place even with my 2nd trip.
Oh, they draw "SEPTIC" system layout too !!

    Happy Customer !
    			=Joe=
P.S. They use AUTOCAD S/W package in a DEC "RAINBOW" !!

I recently used Spofford Engineering from Holden, MA. for a boundary survey.
This is a home business type of operation that also does Percs and septics.
I was very pleased with the responsiveness, quality and price.

| 2029.8 | Bob Hart, Northboro, MA | MILRAT::HAMER | under repair, proceed with care | Fri Jun 16 1989 13:16 | 12 |
| | Bob Hart of Northboro, MA (508) 393-3058. Set the front bounds, did a
plot plan, and helped the excavator with the elevation of the house
He was the first guy I called who didn't insist I needed a complete
survey to set the front bounds. ("why do you need to survey the back
when you're putting posts in the front" was how he put it-- compelling
argument to me of the anemic checkbook).
The work was done about when he said it would be and the plans, etc.
were acceptable to all who needed to accept them.

| 2029.9 | Noonan & McDowell - Billerica | IAMOK::ALFORD | I'd rather be fishing | Thu Jun 22 1989 08:34 | 14 |
| |
I had to have mine done last year, when abutters started building
on a lot I thought was 'unbuildable..." but thats another story..
I used Noonan and McDowell in Billerica. They have the best
reputation there (for whatever that's worth!!) and did a good
job staking all corners, along the line, filing the marks with
the deed folks (the whole subdivision was incorrectly marked
so he was working to get the town to rectify the situation)
ANyway it was more work than a usual survey so it cost
$900,...but I should think the regular one would be more like$600,.

When I used Doug in 1991 he was the least expensive and he did the job
on time and met his quote. I was planning to request a variance to
build within 30 ft of the street on a corner lot so I needed to have
measurements to the nearest tenth of a foot. He charged only $200 for a
complete job of determining boundaries and placing the house on the
    lot.

A year later, I refinanced my house and the bank wanted $125 for a
plot plan. I asked Doug if he could do it for under $125. He updated my
original work, added the verbage for the bank, and didn't charge me.
All he asked was for me to pass his name along if the opportunity
    presented itself.

I would use him again and I do recommend him highly to everyone else.

| | David E. Ross and Associates
    Mike Martorella
    Box 361
    17 West Main St
    Ayer, Ma 01432
    tel: 508-772-6232

I used David E. Ross and Associates based in Ayer and
was very pleased with the outcome.

I called 3 surveryors, FAXing them our plot plan indicating
where we needed stakes. Mike Martorella from Ross and Assoc
called letting me know that he had the original survey of our
property. It indicated there should be stakes at those points
already. (There weren't. Subsequent grading had removed them,
but I was left with a very favorable impression of the company.)

Once the bids came in, Ross and Assoc was the lowest of the 3.
They showed up on time and did a very professional job. I highly
    recommend them.
